Eurobodalla Greens are putting One Foot Forward for mental health awareness
This October your Greens council candidates will be walking to make a difference to the lives of people touched by mental illness and suicide.
One Foot Forward is a fundraising event coordinated by The Black Dog Institute whose mission is to enable mentally healthier lives through innovations in science, medicine, education, public policy and knowledge translation.
Lead candidate Alison Worthington said, "We're walking to raise awareness, and funds, and just to let people living with mental health challenges know that we care, and that they are not alone.”
“Raising awareness gives us all a chance to reflect on our own mental health too, and to speak to someone if we are not feeling the best - or perhaps look to support those around us who might need us to lend an ear for a friendly check in.”
Everyone is invited to join the Euro Greens walking team for Covid-safe walks around the shire each Saturday during October.
“Everyone’s welcome. The next walk will depart from Tuross Blvde at Coila Bar Beach, 2pm Saturday 16 October.”
