2023 State election
Vote 1 Cathy Griff for the Bega electorate on 25th March 2023
AND
Our Upper House team of women: Cate Faehrmann, Lynda-June Coe and Dr Amanda Cohn
It’s looking increasingly likely that no major party will hold a majority in both houses of parliament after the March 2023 election, and there’s never been a more important time to increase our Greens representation.
Together we’ll push the next government to go further and faster on climate action, act on the housing and cost of living crises, protect our precious environment and threatened species and interrupt the hold of fossil fuel corporations, big developers and the powerful gambling lobby on our parliament.
We have the opportunity to hold the balance of power and make the next government take action on the critical issues: end coal and gas by 2030, to hold the gambling industry to account and to stop native forest logging.

OUR HOW TO VOTE GUIDE FOR BEGA ELECTORATE VOTERS:

Cathy Griff - Greens for Bega
Our candidate for the seat of Bega is Bega Valley Greens Councillor Cathy Griff. In her 6 years on council Cathy has been a very effective representative for her community.
Cathy has been instrumental in local government strategies for climate resilience and affordable housing. As a South East Arts board member for six years, Cathy promotes arts development across Bega and Eurobodalla shires. She has a background in government media, research, policy and film.
"My commitment to the state election is based on my extensive policy and strategy experience; communication and consultation skills; and a passion for the Bega environment with its diverse, close-knit towns and rural communities," said Cathy.
"Witnessing the ecological, social and economic damage of recent decades has wedded me to the practical and ambitious vision of Greens policy. In recent years, the NSW Greens have exposed pork-barrelling, brought the plight of koalas to the world’s attention and improved laws to reduce gambling harm and make government decisions fairer and more transparent."

There’s never been a more important time to have more Greens in parliament fighting for a future for all of us so that our NSW communities can safely thrive!
